Bone health: Calcium, Vitamin D3, Strontium, Glutathione

Bone health:  Calcium, Vitamin D3, Strontium, Glutathione (for more information, click here)

There have been sooo many stories about what you need for bone health.  Lets figure what is really going on. (click here for more information)

I never did understand why they promoted Calcium for bone health.  Lets look at the facts.  Your parathyroid (that is the organ that is around your thyroid, in your throat) monitors how much calcium is in the blood.  If there is too much or too little, the parathyroid sends out hormones (PTH) to tell the bones to turn over more or less (osteoclasts) to keep the necessary amount of calcium in the blood.

Now if we give the body calcium, the wrong message is given to the parathyroid.  It doesn't tell the bones to make more, because it thinks there is enough.  The flip side of the coin is, if we make calcium from bone it is at cost to the bone - we don't want that.

Then we were told that we need Vitamin D3 to absorb calcium.   Vitamin D is a building block of the hormone calcitriol with works with the PTH.  Calcitrol increases absorption of calcium (and phosphorous).  Okay that sounds good, we do want that.

Strontium, however, is we really want.  Strontium stimulates growth of new bone; rather than just breaking down bone.  It promotes growth as it attracts minerals such as: calcium and magnesium, boron and zinc that required in developing new strong, dense bone.  McGill University in Montreal showed how increasing strontium increases bone formation by 172% in just 6 months.
K2 - not K1 (involved in coagulation), is also utilized in bone health.  K2 takes calcium from places it should not be, but accumulates, like tissues and arteries; and helps to return it to the bone where 99% of our calcium belongs.
In addition, glutathione is involved in the regulation of calcium.  When glutathione levels get low; the regulation of calcium is disrupted.  And that disrupts everything.
Healthy bones also need:  strontium, magnesium, Vitamin D3 and glutathione to be effective.  This increases bone development that is strong and dense.
Vitamine D3 should be attained through the sunshine without sunscreen.  Glutathione is useless if taken orally as it does not cross the cell membrane.  But we do have a composite patent that includes all the products required, in the right ratios, to provoke the cells to make glutathione.  For more information contact Dr Holly at holly@choicesunlimited.ca Magnesium has 12 different forms, only three are bioavailable - so you have to make sure you have the right kind.
One of the best ways to keep bones strong is by exercise. Weight bearing exercise and weight training are great ways to build both strong muscles and strong bones.  And if you make sure you have enough Vitamin D3, glutathione, Magnesium, and Strontium - you will have no problem.
