Chocolate – your number one source for anti-oxidants
What are anti-oxidants? What do they do? Why do we need more? Where do we get them from?
What are Anti-oxidants?
Anti-oxidants are molecules that can donate an electron to a Free Radical. A free radical is usually a destructive molecule in the body that will scavenge an electron where ever they can or from what ever they can. They can damage DNA, cause premature aging, heart disease, liver damage, emotional and mental disorders, etc.
There are some useful free radicals in the body, i.e., in the immune system, but for the vast majority, – they are not only harmful but in an over abundance. Just as there are several different categories of free radicals, likewise there are a vast array of anti-oxidants. Further, anti-oxidants do not only provide electrons to free radicals, but also do a variety of different functions, depending on the particular molecule.
How to get Anti-oxidants?
Many foods are acclaimed to be rich in anti-oxidants. For instance a couple of years ago, Acai berry was being promoted as a great anti-oxidant rich food – however, many laboratory studies revealed that what was getting to your mouth was significantly different than what was identified in the fresh fruit.
Unfortunately, this loss in nutrient is the case with many foods. How and where a food is cultivated; how and when it is harvested; how it is processed, ie., heated or pasteurized, microwaved, gases used to stop/start enzyme processing, oxygen removed, etc all impact on the spectrum and density of anti-oxidants, and other nutrients, that reach your mouth.
The seed of any fruit or vegetable is considered the most nutrient dense part of the food. This is certainly the case with the cocoa seed that has over 300 nutrients that are beneficial for us.
What is the best chocolate?
Xocai chocolate has a special patent that protects these nutrients so that all these wonderful nutrients reach your mouth. Chocolate has more than twice the number of anti-oxidants than acai berry – and it reaches the mouth. In addition, some of the xocai chocolates also have acai berry and blueberry included in the chocolate.
The cacoa bean contains about 10,000 mg or 10 grams of anti-oxidants per 100 grams – that is a huge 10% of a piece of Xocai chocolate. That is nearly twice what is found in red wine and up to three times as what is found in a good green tea.
This contributes to the fact that the real raw chocolate bean is the most nutrient dense food there is. Only Xocai, has the patent that protects all these nutrients. These anti-oxidants are incredibly stable in the chocolate and wonderfully easy to absorb into the body.

Oral Health :
- alkalizes the mouth
- prevents bad bacteria from developing
Depression & other mental dysfunctions :
- provides all the amino acids necessary to make neurotransmitters;
- has endorphins;
- provides anti-oxidants to eliminate oxidative stress and inflammation
- fatty acids necessary for healthy brain function: to protect insulation of the neurons; to provide transport systems for nutrients; to create fuel for the cells
Mental health & clarity : see depression
Fights cancer :
- turns on apoptosis in cancer cells;
- promotes oxygen transport across the membrane into the cancer cells
- reduces the capacity for glucose to get into the cancer cells
Fights digestive disorders:
- bowel issues, ie., constipation
- gastric issues,
- inflammation,
