Healthy Skin – what does it take?

Whether you are looking for beautiful skin or healthy skin – similar components are needed. (click here for more information) The skin is made up of 7 layers. These layers do a number of different functions.

  • 1. Production center: One of the most common functions people are aware of today is the ability to make vitamin D from the sun.
  • 2. Storage center: for fats and water
  • 3. Immune defense system: langerhan cells in the skin are part of the “adaptive immune system”
  • 4. Absorption: we absorb oxygen, nitrogen through the skin
  • 5. Resistance: the skin acts as a barrier to prevent vital nutrients from washing away
  • 6. Regulating temperature: an important function of the skin
  • 7. Regulating fluids: an important regulatory system that consists of both functional and non-functional sweat (the latter we are not aware of but goes on 24/7)
  • 8. Sensory mechanism: temperature, touch, pressure, vibration and injury are all aspects of a very important mechanism that allow us to function in our environment

Magnesium is a key component in over 380 KNOWN enzyme processes in every cell of your body: all 100 Trillion of them!!

Your skin is made up of 7 layers of cells – that’s a lot of magnesium functions that require magnesium. THUS magnesium is also important in your skin. Lets look at some of the key issues that are applicable in every day life:

Acne: acne can have several different causes. Magnesium works in concert with glutathione to help detox the skin: bacteria, toxic metals, free radicals, etc that can cause acne.

Allergies: Do you suffer from allergies? Well, magnesium can not only cleanse your skin but also detoxify all layers of the skin. As such, it is incredibly effective in both managing reactions in the skin AND eliminating reactions.

Anti-aging: Magnesium works together with molecules like glutathione and ATP to extend teleomeres. What does that mean?

  • 1) Well ATP is the fuel for most cell functions.
  • 2) Glutathione is the only known molecule that protects the production of the fuel supply.
  • 3) DNA have teleomeres units at the end of each string that allow for the DNA to replicate
  • 4) Glutathione not only protects these teleomeres from breaking down (at about 5000 units we die) but it also promotes the creation of new telemeres – that gives us longer life
  • 5) Magnesium works in concert with the glutathione and the ATP to extend the teleomeres in your skin (and every other cell in the body) to give longer life

Anti-wrinkles: Magnesium also works in conjunction with other molecules to enhance the production of collagen (29 different types of collagen in the body). Collagen is a connective tissue component that makes sure the cell stands up – thus no wrinkles.

Rashes: whether they psoriasis, eczemas, or other rashes – we find that they usually stem from liver toxicity. Again, glutathione and magnesium work in concert to restore the liver; which then helps to restore the skin.
