Weight gain and weight loss

Before you try loosing your weight, take time to figure out what is causing it.

There are a variety of reasons that you may be gaining weight.  From yeast infections to GIT inflammations to vitamin or mineral deficiencies to a comprimised liver to underlying cognitive beliefs to pharmaceutical synthetic medications.  for more information see Dr. Holly

When it comes to food and calories - it is not a singular correlation, ie., more calories equals weight gain.  People who have a high/fast metabolism can eat alot more than those who have a slow metabolism - so learn what foods alter your metabolism.

People who are deficient in various vitamins, minerals, enzymes, peptides, fats, etc can gain weight because the body's capacity to function at optimal levels is always determined by the limiting variables.

Stress is a huge factor in weight gain.  The more stress you are under; the more corticosteroids your adrenals secrete; the higher the level of free radicals and the lower the levels of glutathione; the more your fat cells take on the toxins and the bigger you get.

Exercising past a sweat can be as ineffective as not exercising at all.  Learn which exercises and types of movement best for your system.

Limiting belief systems can also create weight issues - learn what your underlying life themes; defense mechanisms; coping mechanisms; value systems are and make them work for you and not against you.

Understand diabetes, ie., does weight gain cause diabetes or does diabetes cause weight gain??

These are just a sample of the variables that contribute to weight gain.  For more information contact Dr. Holly at holly@choicesunlimited.ca
