Weight Loss Controversy Series - 3 Prepare for Christmas with fun
So the first article looked at the theories behind weight loss programs.
The second article looked at two questions you need to ask yourself about the program you were looking at…
In this article we are going to look at what you need to prepare for Christmas…with fun
I am sure most of you have heard or read what Hippocrates said about food, some 2000 years ago…” food is your medicine and medicine is your food” …
So how can we make that work for you over Christmas – with all the extra food, deserts, special functions and dinners with all those delicious appetizers, etc.
There is some simple tips whereby you can make food work you rather than against you, including chocolate.
Number 1: Acidity versus Alkalinity
People are more likely to put on weight when their body is in acidic state rather than an alkaline state :
so make sure the water you are drinking is alkaline (I will do a whole article on this down the road)
increase the alkalinity in your diet throughout the rest of the time by eating alkaline foods like:
Number 2: Fiber
There are two main types of fiber: soluble and non-soluble.
The non-soluble fiber helps regulate your bowel movements and provides a prebiotic for the bacterial growth in your gut
The soluble fiber helps regulate the sugar uptake in your liver – most people think of diabetes in terms of their pancreas – but it is actually the liver that begins the process. If there is spiking in the liver then the liver talks to the pancreas and tells it to release insulin – over time this leads to a diabetic pattern
Eat more fiber before you go to a sugar infested feast and you will slow down the sugar uptake and allow your body to deal with it more effectively
Number 3: Eat Chocolate
What?? Chocolate!!! You have got to be kidding. No I am not…but it does need to be a given kind of chocolate. Most chocolate is horrifically bad for you. Even the bitter chocolate you find in the health food stores is not all that it is cracked up to be.
Chocolate actually comes from the seeds of the cocoa fruit. It is the most nutrient dense food there is: very alkaline, full of fiber; and has 20 times the anti-oxidants that green tea has. When properly cultivated, harvested and processed, chocolate actually aids weight loss!!!
Now you may think that means your bitter chocolate in the health food stores – well not really.
First, it depends on where and how the chocolate is grown. Cultivated chocolate does not have near the nutrient profile as non cultivated chocolate.
Secondly how it is harvested – is hugely important
Thirdly, what happens to the chocolate between the harvesting and getting it to your mouth is perhaps the most important.
So what kind of chocolate and how does it help you loose weight?
Xocai chocolate is well recognized now in various medical arenas: cardiology, diabetic, dental, bariactric, etc
Why?
1) Xocai chocolate has a special patent that protects the nutrients found in the seed and makes sure they get to your mouth – backed by independent laboratory tests.
2) Xocai chocolate goes a step better than organic for cultivation
3) Xocai chocolate has over 300 nutrients the body needs
4) Xocai chocolate is the number one source for magnesium – required for over 300 known enzyme processes in every cell of your body (plus a load of other minerals, vitamins, and nutrients)
5) Xocai chocolate provides you with the fibers that prevent the glucose spiking that provokes diabetes
6) nutrients in Xocai chocolate help to sensitize the insulin receptors
7) in fact, clinical studies have shown that Xocai chocolate eliminates diabetes
8) xocai chocolate provides 20 times the anti-oxidants of a good green tea and 3 times the anti-oxidants of the acai berry (although acai berry and blueberry are combined with the chocolate in some of the chocolate) Note: prediabetics and diabetics are known to have very low anti-oxidant levels
9) Xocai chocolate helps to regulate the leptin and grehlin hormones – which also regulates your hunger and satiation senses – which means you might be hungry more often but you will feel full faster
10) the anti-oxidants found in Xocai chocolate help the fat cells to open up and release the toxins and then clean up the mess – between this and the alkalinity – your body won’t respond to the demands of yeast and other organisms that want the sugar
11) the anti-oxidants in Xocai chocolate then change the fat cells into fatty acids that are used for energy and eliminated
12) Xocai chocolate has 19 amino acids – and it is well recognized that getting these good amino acids into the body helps to eliminate weight – without having to eat the heavy acidic, hormone injected, meat and poultry that makes the body toxic and acidic and gain weight
13) the fatty acids in chocolate are the ones the body, and in particular that the brain, needs, ie., palmitic, oleic, linoleic, etc – so we don’t have to worry about eliminating them – like most bitter chocolate processes do
14) Xocai chocolate is studied by 200 scientists with umpteen clinical studies behind it; now referenced in many journals and presented at numerous nutritional, health and medical conventions
15) Xocai chocolate was the only company asked to present at the last Bariatric Convention (bariatrics has to do with anything involving weight management)
15 reasons to eat Xocai chocolate to regulate and/or loose weight at Christmas!!!
I love it.
The next article will address different programs and what their attributes and short comings are.
