We have all heard repeatedly, that we are far to acidic. There is a huge misconception out there…it is our blood that is alkaline, and should have a pH between 7.35-7.45. However, much of our body is and should be acidic, our hair, our skin, our gut….now while the gut is designed to be acidic…it too can be toooo acidic…so what do we do about it.
Well there are a few things…we can do to support our bodies…
1) we can use lemon – the whole fruit, not just the juice.
Scrub the outside of a lemon. Cut of the ends – this is where the majority of the solates are that can cause kidney stones if you get too much. Now cut up the remainder of the lemon, inside and outside rinds, seeds, juice and put in a blender – NOT A JUICER – I always tell people to throw out the juicers. Whether fruit or vegetable, you want the fiber. The fiber is full of alkalizing minerals and other phyto nutrients. Keep the lemon juice in the fridge, put it into other juices, hot water, cold water…
The lemon, although acidic, on the outside of the body, becomes alkalizing on the inside of the body.
2) we can use Himalayan Salt
Himalayan sea salt contain over 84 minerals and trace elements including the aforementioned calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium making it a great way to alkalize.
Add ¼ – ½ tsp for every quart of water.
You can actually put this in the lemon water OR just drink it with water – AND make sure you cook with it. Throw out the table salt….once again this man made sodium chloride is not good for the body.
Another way to do this is to fill a jar one quarter of the way full and then fill the rest with water. Put a cap on it and let it sit over night. Every morning take 1 teaspoon of the mixture and follow with a full glass of water.
3) we can use Celtic Sea Salt
Celtic sea salt has many similar benefits as Himalayan salt.
Add ¼ to ½ teaspoon per quart of water. Shake until dissolved and consume.
4) we can also use baking soda or Sodium Bicarbonate
Baking soda works as an antacid by balancing the hydrochloric acid in the stomach. Add 1/8 of a tbsp to every 8 ounces of water.
Be careful that the brand of baking soda doesn’t contain aluminum.
5) we can also use apple cider vinegar or acv
7) Eat more alkaline foods – fruits and vegetables
Help your body function effectively and optimally and it will support you.
